EDUCATIONAL SPECIALIST
DR. DARLENE F. ATKINS, Ed.D.
Dr. Darlene F. Atkins is a middle school principal, adjunct professor, and co-founder of Paramount Consulting Team, LLC. A native of Minter, AL, she holds bachelor’s, master’s, and doctorate degrees in Secondary Education-English Language Arts and educational leadership. Dr. Atkins is a veteran educator with over 15 years in education at the secondary and post-secondary levels. She has taught English, creative writing, and journalism at the secondary level. She has taught graduate courses in instructional and educational leadership at the post-secondary level. Throughout her educational tenure, she has improved the teacher retention rate in a hard-to-staff school and has led a school to earning the distinction of Alabama State School of Character and National School of Character by Character.Org. Dr. Atkins is often called upon to share her insight on building character education in what is deemed as “struggling” schools. She has been recognized as the Tutwiler Educator of the Year, Alabama Teacher of the Year nominee, and Distinguished Alumni of the Year, to name a few.
Dr. Atkins is a proven instructional leader with experience in innovative practices, strategic planning, and building leadership and instructional capacity in others. She has a passion and zeal for teenagers, young adults, and aspiring educators. If, over the course of her lifetime, she can make a difference in the life of one of her students or staff members, then she will know that she has done some good for the world-at-large.
EDUCATIONAL SPECIALIST
DR. TASHARA KING, Ph.D.

Dr. TaShara King currently serves as the principal of a revolutionary charter school in Birmingham, Alabama, and she is the co-Founder of Paramount Consulting Team, LLC. Dr. TaShara King is best known as the “IV Leader”- an Instructional & Visionary Leader who is able to use his or her skills/expertise to diagnose the next steps of leadership for the people they are serving. As an IV leader, she works with schools that are looking to "have a healthy & thriving environment" by assessing where they are and implementing a plan to take the school to the next level. Through implementing various strategies and programs to enhance school climate and culture, she has a proven track record of decreased discipline and decrease in teacher turnover. Dr. King has operationalized and adopted as one of her operating principles that people don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care. She believes the success of school leaders including teachers, administrators, and all adults in the building begins with building authentic relationships. By serving in several roles, in the past 20 years, throughout her educational journey such as special education para educator, teacher, athletic coach, instructional coach, assistant principal and principal, she has had the opportunity to see education through various lenses.
TaShara is a native of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, a proud two time graduate of Alabama State University and has an earned doctorate degree from Auburn University in Education Foundation Leadership in Technology with a focus on Higher Education.
